Virginia Chance School

Virginia Chance School keeps chickens, an aquacuaponics tank, and edible gardens, and implements school wide service learning projects annually. The students eat produce from their green house and gardens, host markets for the community, using the raised funds for their Green Team projects, and donate more than 20% of what they grow to local food pantries and soup kitchens.  In addition to this, students have implemented projects that allow the school and environment to benefit from pollinator gardens, rain barrels, idle-free carpool lines, compost bins, and energy conservation.

Future plans include a riparian zone restoration, a solar-powered rain water pump to water the edible gardens, and bee hives.
