All Kentucky schools, private and public, preschool through university level, are eligible to participate. Homeschool associations are also welcome.
Enrolling in the Kentucky Green and Healthy School Program is as simple as one, two, three, four. |

- Forming a Green and Healthy Team: The team should include maintenance workers, cafeteria staff, administrators, teachers, students and members of the community.
- Submitting the Registration Form and Pledge Sheet:
The principal must sign off on the pledge-registration sheet [CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD] and designate one or two contact persons. Please mail this form to the:

- Deciding how the inventories will be conducted in Exploring Your School Environment: Some schools may have only one or two classrooms that wish to participate. Others will involve the entire school. There is no time limit to finish this program.
- Collecting Baseline Information: Gather some background information on the school facilities and grounds. Information as such blueprints of the buildings, utility and water bills, topographic maps of the grounds, and written standard operating procedures will help students as they start exploring the school environment.
- Complete improvement project based on needs identified in inventory.
