The Lloyd Student Energy Team is comprised of twenty 9th-12th graders who meet weekly to plan community outreach events and work on leadership projects. Together, the team manages a school garden, runs a recycling program, completes energy inventories of the building, and hosts Environmental Education events at the elementary schools throughout the year. The team puts on an Energy Carnival and Dance for the middle school and organizes a district-wide Earth Day Celebration to feature local and state-level resources for energy management and resource conservation. They were awarded the National Senior Level School of the Year by NEED in 2016 for their outreach efforts and work in educating the community of Erlanger-Elsmere, Kentucky. This year, the team will focus on creating an outdoor learning trail for the preschool that is housed on campus using data collected by high school students in each of the science courses offered at Lloyd.
